Doubledouble was asked to design a headboard to revamp a simple wooden bed. Additionally to creating a stunning eye-catcher, it protects the wall and can project symbols associated with restful sleep. The furniture that was built around offers shelving areas on top and on both sides - for a book or a cup of tea.
Inspired by a dreamcatcher - a common symbol for hope and healing - the screen print on wood evokes the elements of wind, weather and sunlight in a concentric movement. A copper bullet points to the center of the piece, and the surrounding thin lead drawn with a pencil lead finishes the concentric circle. The idea is the focus on the sense of rest.
